Garry Olah sees Apprenda as critical link to advancing private PaaS and will now lead strategic partnerships and alliances
NEW YORK –- (August 14, 2012) — Apprenda has hired Garry Olah as Vice President of Business Development to lead corporate partnerships and alliances.
Attracted by how Apprenda allows organizations to realize immediate value of its existing applications or new investments, Olah joins the company recognizing this significant shift in how cloud applications can be turned into valuable business processes or offerings.
“Apprenda is one of the few PaaS providers that has truly demonstrated enterprise companies creating next generation applications utilizing a public or private cloud model. These case studies are invaluable to potential partners and their customers,” said Olah. “Execution like this offers my past alliances similar advancements in managing and deploying enterprise applications.”
During a 12-year tenure at Citrix, Olah helped the company receive a host of industry accolades which include three times being named Microsoft’s Global ISV Partner of the Year and grew to over 200 million users in more than 250,000 organizations. As vice president of business development, Olah was critical to developing and guiding Citrix’s most strategic business partnerships, including the industry leading global Citrix-Microsoft relationship.
Most recently, Olah advised cloud, virtualization and enterprise application vendors in business development and market strategies including disruptive companies like Quest Software (recently acquired by Dell), Wyse, BlueStacks, expanz and Scaleextreme.
Olah’s career expands well beyond Citrix with over 20 years’ experience in enterprise software business development, sales and marketing. Olah was instrumental at BMC Software where he was hired to develop and execute the ISV strategies and programs for PATROL, the company’s award winning application management platform and most successful distributed systems product.
“Garry’s career in creating powerful strategic relationships with Microsoft, Citrix, Oracle, SAP and Dell will help foster key partnerships for innovation of PaaS and for Apprenda’s platform,” said Sinclair Schuller, CEO. “Garry’s expertise will no doubt propel the private cloud space.”
Apprenda’s Open PaaS stack for .NET continues to grow; examples of how partnerships have already benefitted customers include Apprenda Azure, Private Cloud Solutions Suite (PCSS) as well as Apprenda’s extension into Microsoft’s Service Management Portal.
Apprenda is an open Platform as a Service (PaaS) stack for .NET that enables enterprises to transform any Windows based infrastructure into a self-service cloud application platform. By decoupling applications from infrastructure and Developers from IT, Apprenda empowers organizations to achieve significant cost savings and massive productivity improvements that result in better business/IT alignment.
