New York has always been a core part of Apprenda’s identity. Our three co-founders started the company in New York in 2007 and some of our first customers were headquartered there. Being close to them allowed us to focus on their real-world needs and give them the best possible customer service.
In order to accommodate our tremendous growth, Apprenda moved into an incredible new HQ in Troy, NY in early 2014 with capacity for several hundred employees. Many of our customers–including some of the largest organizations in banking, health care, and government–have a large presence in the Tri-state area so we’re following that trend. We also opened a new office in Amsterdam in late 2014 to be closer to our new EMEA customers who have no locations in the United States.
Today, we’re announcing the expansion of our footprint in New York City with a new office in the Flatiron District. The new space has plenty of room to fit our fast growing headcount in the Big Apple for the next several years. This will give us a significant advantage as we expand our roster of Global 2000 customers using Apprenda. Our New York customers already have thousands of apps on hybrid installations of Apprenda, and this expansion will fuel the migration of thousands of additional apps while consolidating their data centers and transforming their development process.
Apprenda is proud to be part of the NYC technology community alongside other great companies like MongoDB, Digital Ocean, Stack Exchange, Datadog, Yext, Taboola, Betterment, Squarespace, and Etsy. As of late 2014, NYC has more than 300,000 technology employees, which is on par with Silicon Valley. We are glad to be part of that number and will continue to hire a ton of new engineering, product, marketing, and sales employees in NYC in 2016 and beyond.
